Escape From Big Rock Candy Mountain

The blog card is on its merry way back to America proper but I have big hopes that afterward, it'll do a grand criss cross of Canada once more.  We've only just begun (what someone else begun)!

Still no sign of my mother's fudge but if it ever does show up, my plans now include laboratory testing before an official tasting.   My family hasn't been this interested in me in years so it's true I suppose that sugar really can bring people together.

In keeping with the sugar theme, may I present my new favourite snack...the cheesecake covered candy apple courtesy of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  Mmm mmm good!

If you don't hear from me for a while, I'm changing my excuse from good old fashioned laziness to sugar shock.

To weigh in on my hopes and dreams for American Idol this season (don't worry, they're not legion), you can check here.

By white confection, do they mean sugar? Or something more insidious? Something even more addictive? At least you are still getting some fruit with it, so that cancels out the naughty stuff.

Safe journeys to the card.

I really have high hopes for this year's Idol kids, that is I hope they eat that cheesecake apple and get fat. That way at least people would still talk about them in a year.

I should have piped up earlier and asked to have that card sent my way. Is there any chance that could still happen? Or at least could I get some travel-hardened homemade fudge?

It's bound to outlast us all Skyler's Dad!

Do not keep away Fran, go to it, make sweet sweet, never mind. Just eat it

Haha, yes Rocky, not Blue dear Princess. I'll have a look at your meme and see what's in it for me :-)

It's cocaine I believe Barbara, I feel so invincible right now!

I'm less interested in the show but will probably still watch it and complain CoolCat.

You'd have a better chance at the fudge right now Bubs but I have it on good authority that the card may make an appearance with someone you're familiar with. Watch the skies, or rather, the blogs.

I'm glad you provided that link --- I was wondering how you'd get a whole cheescake around a candy apple.

No offense to Bubs, but I understand that all the cops on Big Rock Candy Mountain have wooden legs.

Cheesecake covered candy apple?

Why ruin all the dessert goodness by putting something healthy in the middle?

I'm in sugar shock every day. Maybe that's why I accomplish nothing.

Oddly enough I sent some fine Canadian fudge to my mom in Europe recently. I mailed it early November and she got it last week. THREE MONTHS it took. Seems I forgot to scribble AIRMAIL on the box so it went by mule or something. Carrier pigeon maybe. She said it was delicious. The fudge not the pigeon. Apparently that was stringy.

Stocked up on candies from Rocky Mountain, while driving through...I'm still on a sugar high. So good!

Can we blame the economy on sugar shock too?

It has arrived! We'll soon send it on it's way...

I'm on pins and needles about this delicious character, The Fudge, and hope his/her appearance in mouths the world over occurs shortly.
