While there are a slew of less than wonderful things that weigh and slow us on our paths, the universe occasionally presents a perfect moment to remind you that life is a gift.
This morning, I had the pleasure of seeing a squirrel fall out of the tree in my backyard and hit the lawn. This is living!

I suspect foul play on Rizzo's part.
The beauty, the wonder, the awesomeness of nature!
And as CP said, likely some input from Rizzo.
Didn't you see the remake of "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory," Dale? Don't mock the squirrels, they won't take it lightly and you'll be forced to wear a cup for some time.
Did the squirrel paramedics come and take him away in their little ambulance?
No?
That only happens in my backyard?
Hmmm...
I love drunk squirrels! Except for when they get all obnoxious and try to pick a fight.
You sir, have made the Evil Genius smile. (On a particularly Evil day, mind you.)
Zoom in: Squirrel in tree. Sees two Collies below. Leaps to bigger branch and misses. Lands on ground in front of dogs. Leaps 12 feet in the air to get back on tree as dogs dopily move at the speed of tax reform after it. That was my summer's highlight 2006.
I ran over a pigeon today and I feel queasy.
You're evil. It's official.
Poor squirrel!
I thought that was impossible. They always use their squirrel magic to make impossible leaps from branch to branch...how could that fail?
Miracles do exist! I wish there was a video to accompany this. :)
Yeah, baby!
Wow. And to think they spend millions making movies because not everyone is as blessed as you for entertainment.
ROTFL!!
Yeah, there's nothing else to say - still laughing at that vision.
damn tree rats
Just hope the squirrel doesn't sue you for failing to maintain safe tree branches.
Dale, it's always been my dream to see a squirrel fall out of a tree, set to a score of Wagner
Sicko.
wow! that's so very exciting. did it run away when it hit the ground or was it stunned?
i'm attempting a come-back here. i'll be making a greater effort to visit everyone. hi dale! nice to read your words again. :)
Where are you???
By-the-way...you were featured a couple of days ago with your ridiculous scenario. You were thanked and linked today. No, don't thank me...
I've been there. It was a thing of sheer beauty.
WHERE IN THE FUCK ARE YOU????
Nature in action.
