To hear Jerry talk about the experience was hilarious but to see the animated short film that's been made about his experience was incredible. The film is called I Met The Walrus and is in contention for an Oscar.
If you have 9 minutes, watch the segment from The Hour first and then have a look at the actual film which is about 5 minutes long.
If you don't like either, as always, my policy is: your money back!

That was wonderful Dale, thanks for posting. I don't know how I missed that episode of The Hour; guess I need to go play catch up too.
Thank you Dale for giving peace a chance, and for this fine piece. I can't wait to show it to my little girls.
Doc
These days, that kid would get a vicious beat down, but he'd be trying to interview the Jonas Brothers, so he'd deserve it.
What a neat story! I give Jerry Levitan (as a kid) so much credit for being able to sit in the same room with his idol and even put a sentence together. I would have expected him to sound like Chris Farley interviewing Paul McCartney on Saturday Night Live.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
I tend to watch the show more online for the interviews I want now than when it airs Mel. There are tons of good clips on the site. I think the new season starts soon doesn't it?
It was pretty cool wasn't it Doc? I really enjoyed it.
He'd never make it into the hotel if it was today Pistols but he might catch a glimpse of the Jonas Brothers' hair through the mob of screaming tweens.
I was surprised at his composure too Bubs, I would have been tongue tied and useless, my usual state.
Wow, Dale, that was terrific! I love the interview. Even nearly 30 years later, you can tell how much delight Jerry Levitan gets from telling his story. I agree with the other comments - he'd never get in the hotel room today, and if it were me, I'd have been a blathering idiot! Ah, the innocence of youth! And the movie is pretty cool. The animation reminds me a bit of Monty Python.
I totally forgot about this. I will check it out.
I have to watch this and find out how he did it while Michael Johns is still on the Idol tour.
Yes, I think the second week of September. I've been listening to The Strombo show on Sundays while working alone. I get a huge kick everytime George plays my requests or reads me message on air haha! So easy to please. I think I should go catch up on the few episodes I missed from last season of The Hour before the new one begins. *cheers*
Did you do it Dr. Zibbs? Or did you forget right after your comment?
I'm thinking security is tighter around Archuleta than Michael Johns right now Beckeye. Give it a go.
He's sending you messages over the airwaves now Mel? Uh oh. I'll be watching the news carefully! :-)
Nine minutes? Five minutes? Do you think I am made of time? It's a good thing I love you, Dale.
I am completely confused, I thought Lennon said in "Living In A Glass Onion"
Well here's a clue for you all
The "Walrus" is Paul
awesome awesomeness
Thank you for working the 9 to 5 there Barbara. Oh, and for loving me.
I did think of that too CB and wondered why they went with that title.
It's something else ain't it Hapabukbuk?
Ah ha, no no, George often reads email comments by listeners during his radio show is all. He's read maybe 5 of mine this year, and played maybe 4 of my requests. It gives me a thrilly thrill every time.
He must think you have good taste then Mel!
