I had avoided watching Hustle & Flow until now as I thought I wouldn't be able to survive staring into the cult indoctrinating eyes of Terrence Howard for 2 solid hours. Hello Principal Blackman!
You know he's got those weird translucent eyes most of the time so don't pretend he doesn't. It seems that this time though, he thoughtfully used a different set and good on him.
Everyone turned in great and believable performances and the music was loud and fun. I would have said crunk or crunkin' but I'm still trying to pin down what that means.
Oh yeah, and hello Academy of Stupidity? Your credibility called, it wants some of them Oscars back. At the very least you should have nominated Taraji P. Henson if not the rest of them fine bitches and hos. Like any of them need my pimp ass endorsement.

I love Onyx Blackman -- great name, huh? But Chuck and Geoffrey are my faves. You watch the show?
It's all about Onyx's name for sure. I've watched all the episodes and am waiting for the movie which I think comes out in May or June. Can't wait. I think Amy Sedaris is hilaarious and I like Noblet & Jellineck too.
Is it coming out on DVD or in theatres? DVD, I hope.
Have you read Wigfield yet? I ordered it from Amazon...it's in the pile...gonna read it soon...
I believe it's going for a theatrical release but good luck on marketing it, dvd would be safer a bet.
I was wanting to read the Wigfield but thought I should work through my piles - ewww - first and then maybe order it.
I did order and read the very slim (it's a play) Book of Liz by Amy & David. Uh oh, another sibling production (see Poe and her smelly brother). They call themselves the Talent Family. It was decent and I could see it working on stage
I had no feel for Book of Liz. Lend it to me. I ordered Wigfield off Amazon and have flipped through it so far -- looks great. You can really see Stephen Colbert's humour all over it.
But I have to get through my piles, too. Lots to read. I need to catch up for all the months I've spent in a slump. It was depressing.
Whenever I click onto Amazon, I hear the 'Hi Dale' group welcome as though I'm walking into Cheers (which I would never do). The Liz is so tiny, I could attach it here. It's got everything Amy loves - cheeseballs, religion, a hapless main character. Where have I seen that before?
