The Constant Gardener

My favourite exchange during a lovely weekend in cottage country went something like this:

Laurie - I’ve only got a few beans from the garden so I’ll have to mix the country beans in with the city beans.

Dale - What’s the difference between country beans and city beans?

John - The country beans are poorly dressed.

I, too, would like to insult the country beans, mostly because they'd have to travel sizable distances to attack me. Your children are unlikely to go to out-of-state bean colleges, country beans!

With city beans, the gas is more costly.

Well, you better ask the city beans if they are willing to mingle. they can be a bit snooty.

Well said, as usual, Pistols. We have nothing to fear except beans that steal their way into the city.

What's that smell Flannery?

If my city beans ever find out I'm a country bean in disguise Ten S, they'll beat the snoot right out of me. Shh.

also, the country beans are plain spoken but with a refreshing, homespun wisdom and lack of pretense. delightful, really...

I like my beans just like me: black and well-seasoned.

Meanwhile, the city beans are always chased by the cat. I would regard them as equals.

We can't we all just get along and ignore the fact that some of us are yellow and some are green, and hold hands and dance around a meadow in the sun?

Jenny Jenny Flannery said...

Yeah! Let's give peas a chance!

You think country beans are poorly dressed...you've obviously never had trailer park beans.

Wait, I suck. Flannery's comment was effing hilarious.

LMAO, Flannery.

I'm pretty sure it was Flannery.

You may be right Anandamide but in the end, doesn't it all amount to a hill of beans?

Once you go black bean Chelene...

I have no idea what that means X. Dell but I'll go with it.

And the next thing you know Barbara, all sorts of vegetables will be fraternizing!

Hahaha, very funny Flannery! Is that all you are saying?

Excellent Beckeye, the trailer park beans I'm guessing don't come from good stalk? Har har. That sucked Beckeye, not you.

She's full of them X. Dell.

I'll see you Ha! and, well, you know Grant.

"The country beans are poorly dressed."

They are also more prone to playing the banjo and telling you that "you sure have purty little mouth."

A bean with a banjo is frightening imagery Write Procrastinator. Thank you for scaring me.
