This is what happens when you let your iPod engage in unprotected shuffling on a Friday:

  1. Metallica – Enter Sandman

  7. Buzzcocks – Orgasm Addict

  8. Tool – Jerk Off

  9. Jayne County – Fuck Off

  10. Julie Andrews – A Few of my Favorite Things

And now my real list:

  1. Neil Young – When God Made Me

  2. Garbage – Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go)

  3. Sarah McLachlan – Witness (Live)

  4. Guadalcanal Diary – Cattle Prod

  5. Beck – Cellphone’s Dead

  6. Keren Ann – Sailor and Widow

  7. Metallica – Enter Sandman

  8. Sound Providers – Dope Transmission

  9. Kate Bush – Kite

  10. Tricky – Wonder Woman

I had a Garbage song on my shuffle today too! I like the first list a lot, I wonder how long you would have to play your ipod to get that combination/

I have to love any list, even a fictional one, that has Einsturzende Neubauten and Julie Andrews on it.

Great lists, both. But then, I'm just agreeable.

Julie Andrews could really sing...though it was weird to see her sing in the Princess Bride 2 at age 90.

Pat Boone did a heavy metal album a few years ago. Maybe Julie Andrews can do 9 inch nails....and that would give you an extra spot on your list of 10 since you could combine the two.

I really like that Buzzcocks song.

OK WHAT is it with Keren Ann? I don't get it. I've tried and I just have a problem with her. Whats wrong with me or do you have some tunes that would change my mind about her? She grates on my nerves.
Loved your first 10.

I'm with old lady on this one. I shuffled again but it was mostly unknown stuff except for Heatwave by Marilyn Monroe. "Hot and HUMID nights can be expected".

bluez628, I have sort of a love-hate relationship with Keren Ann myself, and I don't know your musical taste at all, but I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend 'Que Nai Je".

So is the first list mostly fictional, or do you have all that music as well as what's on the real list?

Oh, and I second the Buzzcocks vote...I haven't listened to that song in forever...

# Traditional – Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Traditional--I LOVE that band! Have you ever heard Traditional's version of "The Hokey Pokey"? I dare you to hear it and not put your whole self in--I swear, something about that song just makes you gotta dance!

p.s. Since you invoke Aztec Camera in the title of your post, do you have much from them on your i-pod?

You guys are highlarious. I thought I was being quite clever in getting some pretty disparate songs next to each other based on title/subject. It only half worked.

For the record, I have the Metallica, the E. Neubaten, the NIN, Buzzcocks and the items on the real list. I do not have the Andrews Sisters, Bonnie Tyler, any kind of Barney the Dinosaur sing-a-long songs or Julie Andrews.

I'm blaming the cold medication and the Buzzcocks. It is a great song in'nt Mob and Grant?

I have to check your list Lulu to see which Garbage song although I heartily approve of anything in their canon.

Keren Ann is good background music I find, don't be hating on her! :-) I like the sound of her voice and she just sounds mellow. Some of her lyrics are ridiculous but there you go.

I never want to hear Julie Andrews sing I Want To Fuck You Like An Animal. Ever. Thanks for putting the idea in my head CL.

Holly! You made me put my whole self in when I read your comment and laughed and wheezed pathetically for a full minute.

It was like a walk out to winter when I left for work yesterday morning, the grass was frosty and crunchy underfoot but then the cough syrup kicked in and I was Oblivious. Just those two songs. Are they a favourite of yours?

Ok I'll give you ONE tune I like Keren Ann does. "One Day Without" but that it, and I only like it when I'm pmsing

I also recognized the Aztec Camera reference, though I don't much care for that song. Did you know that Roddy Frame was only 16 when he wrote that album? Bastard.

Alright Bluez, you're generous enough to concede a little so in your name and honour, I'm having a Keren Ann cd burning tonight at midnight. Don't miss it.

It's definitely not my favourite tune CP but every time I think I should take it out of the mix, something won't allow me to. It's a strange hold.

Oooh, I loves me some Tricky. Maxinquaye is some of the best shagging music ever.

Shagadelic for sure Angela.

I do like Aztec Camera--though my favorite song they do is an acoustic cover of "Jump" by Van Halen. Have you heard it? If not, one of these days I'll have to burn you a cd, to make up for the AWESOME stuff you sent me.

I actually have half the songs on that first list. None on the second list.

I don't think I have heard it Holly but I may have to take a look for it. I'm glad you liked 'the stuff'.

If only Julie Andrews had made both lists X. Dell!
