Life And How To Live It

Note to self: when you see heavy rain pouring down before you leave the house, reconsider wearing corduroy pants to work. An umbrella can only do so much.

Note to others: when soaked with rain from the knees down, corduroy can take up to 3 hours to dry.

And wet corduroy makes it hard to walk, too. Did you lumber like Lurch all day?

Beautiful title to this post. Did you come up with it yourself?

Hey funny lady, I'm sure I don't know what you mean. I lurched about for a while (it was yesterday) and I've almost recovered. I have some catching up to do.

I bet they are worse than wool socks for soaking up the water huh? How uncomfortable :( Just thinking about it is giving me leg pains.

Roll yer pants up! Sheesh!

Interesting factoid to know sir, it never rains here in West Texas, so I barely understand this mysterious 'water from the sky' of which you speak.

Especially thick cords. And Canada is sooo cold! Right?

Corduroy? Not your best decision, eh? But I wish I had some corduroy on this morning. It be cold here. Brrr!

Awwwwww if it makes you feel any better I love walking in the rain but only know when I am heading home so I can get out of my wet clothes.

Hope you stay dry in future.

Gretta.

Snow pants. You can never go wrong with snow pants in icky weather.

Plus they make that fun sound when you walk. And you can spill coffee on them and not feel a damn thing.

It's amazing how well, and with so few words, you've just conveyed the soggy discomfort of soaked corduroy pants.

Soggy ankles would suck!

"the soggy discomfort of soaked corduroy pants": Isn't there an OCT for that?

Wow. I haven't seen corduroy in years. They still make those? Or are these someone's hand-me-downs?

Hey MLee - very uncomfortable.

Nothing says business casual quite like rolled up wet pants Old Lady!

I didn't know about it either Mob until I heard about it on the magic talking box.

Yes, once out of the igloo Peter, we're at the mercy of the elements. It's not so different than say NYC's weather here.

Hey, except for the rain Chelene, I was stylin'. Okay, I should not pretend I can pull off using that word. But they looked nice. How's that?

I'm with you Gretta and thanks for the understanding. Everyone, please note Gretta's kind kind words.

Why do I feel like you always get the seat you want and several seats surrounding it on the bus Berry?

I figured there was no point in bemoaning my own stupidity for too much longer Bubs. That I leave up to my gracious commenters.

They do Bluez, they do.

Hmm, I'm really not sure what OCT means Beth so um, maybe?

Hmmm, it's all coming back to me now Tanya & Robert, in fact it seems like it was only Sept 7th when I mentioned something like that.

You don't get out much I fear X. Dell. Or you're so uber stylish that I'm just Ugly Betty to you.

3 hrs. Man! You'd think your drying time would be better than that. It generally only takes my pants 2 hrs to dry. Maybe your huskies aren't pulling the sled fast enough.

Dale said...

Funny things happen Slaygirl. As I was reading your comment and remembering the time as a child that I was bitten by a husky, the song Barefoot by kd lang came up on my player I'd walk through the snow barefoot.... She howls in it. Anyway, yep, close to 3 hours. You must throw a lot of natural heat.

potd, you have to be careful of that! if you sit in wet clothing for too long, you can damage your kidneys.

well, that's probably not true, but my grandmother is the word of god and why take the risk?

Tumuli said...

You'd have been fine had you modeled yourself after Milhouse of "The Simpsons" and worn flood pants. Your ankles would have been wet, but no soggy pants.

jin said...

Easy way to solve that problem Dale...

If you MUST wear corduroy (must you?!!?) wear a SKIRT, then the pants legs won't get wet!

:-D

Dale said...

I think she's trying to tell you to change her diaper Katie!

Tumuli, there's a firghtening man at work who has the glasses, the face and some of the Milhouse clothes. Stop making me think of him!

So wise Mama Jin.

It is very scary to me that you know a real live Milhouse. Ooops, made you think of him!
